Donations

The Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of our community.

Fundraising, donations, legacies and sponsorship allow us to continue providing our Carers Respite Service and Carers Support Programme, helping families across the island who are living with dementia.

Did you Know?

• Research undertaken by Guernsey’s Public Health Department estimates that approximately 1,250 people in Guernsey are living with dementia.
• The GAA receives an average of two enquiries each week for our Sitting Service, most of which are referrals from HSC OAMHT (Older Adult Mental Health Team).
• GAA currently provides over 4,500 sitter hours each year, with demand continuing to grow. The full cost of this service is met by the charity, with no charge to service users.
• To meet this demand, GAA currently employs 20 trained sitters.
