Care Respite

We understand the physical and emotional demands of being a full-time carer of someone living with dementia – it often leaves little time to rest or recharge. You are not alone; we are here to support you.

We offer a free home respite service, giving you, as a carer, some precious time to yourself. One of our experienced GAA carers will spend time with your loved one, providing friendly companionship and reassurance while you enjoy a well-earned break. This can happen in your home or, if appropriate, the sitter can accompany your loved one for a short outing.

The service if free of charge; however, donations to offset the running costs and maintain the service are always gratefully received. We usually provide respite for up to three hours per week, or by arrangement, depending on your personal circumstances.

Our team will talk through the details with you in advance, and you will be able to meet the sitter beforehand to ensure everyone feels comfortable and confident.
